Bakeshop counter

  • Closing Shift (approximately 10 am- 6 pm)

  • Must have Thursday, Friday, & Saturday availability (& possibly one other week day as needed)

  • Long Term Position- (no seasonal students, please)

  • Customer & Food Service Experience is helpful

  • This job is very physical and fast paced (pushing, pulling racks, walk in freezers and coolers, dishes, sweeping, etc)

EXPERIENCED PASTRY ASSISTANT/cake decorator

Shift is approximately 6 a.m-2 p.m Monday-Friday (depending on skill set)

Additional work may be needed around holidays and busy seasons.

At least one year experience in a professional bakery setting preferred-this position is very different from home/hobby baking. Serious candidates only, please. We are looking for a candidate who can "hit the floor running" in pastry and cake production!

Job duties include:

  • Experience icing and decorating cakes & cookies with creativity and ease. Wedding cake decorating a plus! Ability to write on cakes in cursive ideal.

  • Ability to precisely follow and scale recipes for desserts, glazes, cakes & icings, with digital scale

  • Making a variety of crusts, fillings, and icings for cakes & desserts

  • Experience using commercial baking mixers, scales, ovens, and other bakery equipment

  • Working well in a fast paced, busy production environment (on your feet for long periods, in and out of walk in freezers & coolers, pushing, pulling, some heavy lifting)

  • Adaptable to different skill sets depending on seasons and high production demands

  • Eagerness to learn traditional baking and pastry techniques and ability to take direction and work independently as well as on a team

  • Stay clean, organized and on task during your shift

EVENING SHIFT BAKER

Current shift is approximately 6 pm-2 pm

Applicant must be able to:

  • Start shift approximately 6 pm-2 am (or later as needed during busy times)

  • Learn to operate a dough divider and hand shape dough on the bench in a variety of shapes to prepare for proofing and baking

  • Work well on a team and independently

  • Take directions quickly as dough and oven readiness can vary during shift

  • Be able to stand, bend, and lift heavy ingredients and equipment comfortably throughout your shift

  • Work with a sense of urgency- dough can be unpredictable depending on climate and temperature and won't wait!

  • Make delicious, award winning breads and pastries with a great team!
